Biographical Statement

Susan M. Wolf, JD, is Founding Chair of the University’s Consortium on Law and Values in Health, Environment & the Life Sciences. Prof. Wolf is an elected Member of the National Academy of Science’s Institute of Medicine (IOM), a Member of the American Law Institute (ALI), and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Her research has been funded by NIH, NSF, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Greenwall Foundation, and others. Prof. Wolf has served on committees for IOM, NIH, and others, and currently sits on the National Science Advisory Board for Biosecurity (NSABB). She is author, coauthor, or editor of over 150 publications, including in ScienceNature GeneticsNew England Journal of Medicine; and JAMA. Her work focuses on legal and ethical issues in health care, biomedical research, and emerging technologies, including genomics, neuroscience, and nanotechnology.
