About

MPMC I (2016-2018) established support for precision medicine researchers at the University of Minnesota through coordinated working cores, each with expertise critical to precision medicine. The PIs also drew upon the collective expertise of centers, institutes and regional healthcare organizations and others. MPMC I facilitated pilot/demonstration projects for precision medicine research with focused recruitment in populations exhibiting elevated incidence and/or disparities in screening, diagnosis, or treatment.

MPMC II (2019-2021) builds upon the collaborative infrastructure that was formed in MPMC I and expands the role that the University of Minnesota is taking in statewide advancement of clinical precision medicine. While continuing to support and facilitate interdisciplinary faculty pilot research projects and promote precision medicine on campus, MPMC II will focus on deliberative implementation of pharmacogenomics (commonly shortened to “PGx”) in healthcare systems in Minnesota.
